In today’s South Metro addition of Star Tribune Online, they discuss that both Scott County and Dakota County may need to raise property taxes.

In Dakota County, a bump of 1% in property taxes would net the county an additional $1.3 million.

Scott County has discussed a 2.5% increase to property taxes bringing in an additional $1.5 million. This wouldn’t be enough to cover the 4.76 million dollar deficit.

Discussions include making drastic cuts to services including road work and agency subsidies if the tax increase doesn’t occur.
