From buying bank-owned homes, short sale solutions, first time homebuyer education to investment properties, Cornerstone Mortgage has a seminar that will make a difference for you! These seminars are all free to you, no obligation and packed with valuable information from experts in the field.

Your Aging Parents (YAP): From title and estate planning to Social Security benefits and living options to advanced health care planning, this seminar explores the issues aging parents and their children may face when planning for the future. Featuring Rebecca Ross of The Minnesota Real Estate Team, Carrie Guarrero and Reverse Mortgage Specialist, Doug Roseth, of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company, and local legal and financial experts. 2^nd Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Fixin’ to Stay? Use a 203k: Learn how to turn a fixer-upper into the home of your dreams. Whether you plan to buy a new home or refinance your current one, the FHA 203k program allows you to roll eligible repairs and upgrades into the mortgage loan. Presented by Elizabeth Vaughan of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company and David Wagenius of The Minnesota Real Estate Team. 1^st Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Real Estate Investing 101: This no-obligation, no-hidden-agenda seminar outlines the process of real estate investing: securing pre-approval and financing, finding the right home to purchase, and renting it out. Seminar presenters, Ryan O’Neill of The Minnesota Real Estate Team and Rob Bonahoom of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company, will share their investment knowledge culled from personal experiences of owning more than 35 rental properties. 3^rd Tuesday of each month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Real Estate Investing 101.5: Take real estate investment to the next level with assistance from Brian Peterson, a veteran of securities, investments and property rentals. Learn about analyzing existing and future cash flow of a property, setting rental pricing and comparing real estate with other types of investments. Special guest, Rob Bonahoom of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company, will discuss the current mortgage market and the loan approval process. 2^nd Tuesday of every other month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Real Estate Investing 201: Designed with the active investor in mind, this monthly seminar will cover different topics that are essential to the success of the investment property owner.

Short Sale Solutions (SSS): Many homeowners in today’s market find themselves upside-down in their homes. For some, a short sale is the solution, but there are many questions a homeowner should ask – and get the answers to – before entering a short sale agreement: How does a short sale differ from a foreclosure? How does a short sale impact my credit standing? Is there a waiting period before I can purchase a new home? Denae Frampton and Trent Johnson of The Minnesota Real Estate Team and Carrie Guarrero of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company will provide an overview of the short sale process and answer these and other questions. They will also educate attendees on consumer scams to watch out for and grants and other solutions (such as refinancing a current mortgage) available to help qualified homeowners. 1^st Thursday of each month, starting March 4, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Buying Power for First-Time Homebuyers:Buying a home can be daunting – especially if you’re a first-time homebuyer. Join Darcy McDonald of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company and Steve Howe of The Minnesota Real Estate Team for a comprehensive, easy-to-understand overview of the home-buying process – from pre-approval and working with your loan officer to house-hunting and placing an offer to buy, and finally, closing on your home. They will also discuss the current mortgage environment, down payment assistance programs and the federal tax credit of up to $8,000 available to eligible first-time buyers. 3^rd Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

First-Time Buyers, Buying Bank-Owned Homes and More: Join Mary Alice Short of The Minnesota Real Estate Team and Elizabeth Vaughan of the MN Home Loan Partners of Cornerstone Mortgage Company for this informative first-time homebuyer seminar – with a special focus on how to purchase bank-owned properties. They will also discuss the current mortgage environment, down payment assistance programs and the federal tax credit of up to $8,000 available to eligible first-time buyers. 2^nd Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
